Zhonghui Supports the Successful Holding of the WorldSkills Competition Unmanned Aerial Systems International Invitational Competition!

On July 27, 2026, the WorldSkills Competition Unmanned Aerial Systems International Invitational Competition grandly opened at Hangzhou Technician College! The event lasted one week and brought together six teams from China, Singapore, Japan, Macao (China), Brazil, and Saudi Arabia, with more than 20 skilled participants from China and abroad, to carry out specialized technical study and competitive practical training and to take part in a grand international skills exchange event.

The event invited experts including Mr. Alan Ball, Skill Competition Manager for the Unmanned Aerial Systems event of the WorldSkills Competition, and Mr. Derek Murphy, Technical Director of Studica (Canada), to participate throughout in technical instruction, hands-on guidance, and competition drill reviews, imparting WorldSkills assessment standards and cutting-edge practical skills to the participating teams. As the technical support provider for the event, Zhonghui provided all-round support to ensure the orderly implementation of the entire process, including event technical operations, practical training, and hands-on drills.

During the training, Director Derek Murphy gave basic theoretical instruction on UAV hardware architecture, circuit debugging, and flight control systems, and provided a detailed analysis of WorldSkills competition rules and marking scheme, helping competitors consolidate their theoretical foundation. In the hands-on and competition drill sessions, under the guidance of Derek Murphy, the participating teams completed practical UAV assembly and debugging and basic flight operation exercises, and successively carried out hands-on autonomous obstacle avoidance practice, flight tests, and comprehensive simulated competition drills, fully simulating the WorldSkills competition process, promoting learning through competition and training through practice, and comprehensively testing competitors from various countries in terms of their theoretical knowledge and integrated practical capabilities. At the end of the event, experts, coaches, and competitors jointly held a special seminar on event summary and technical review, conducting in-depth exchanges on UAV practical training programs of various countries, key and difficult points in hands-on training, and equipment debugging and optimization plans, and sharing advanced experience in skilled talent development from various countries.

This international invitational competition was benchmarked against the technical standards of the WorldSkills Competition Unmanned Aerial Systems event and successfully established an international skills exchange platform for multi-country connectivity and resource sharing. Participating teams actively shared drone practical training programs and hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies, effectively addressing training shortcomings and honing their competitive capabilities, thereby comprehensively enhancing their preparation for the WorldSkills Competition and overall competitive strength. At the same time, the event introduced advanced international technologies and training concepts in the drone field, providing strong support for the standardized construction of colleges’ WorldSkills Unmanned Aerial Systems training bases, the upgrading of practical training systems, and the improvement of international skilled talent development systems.
