On June 3, 2024, Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College organized a seminar on application materials for the Software Testing project, a new skill of the 48th WorldSkills Competition, at its Baiyun Campus. Zhonghui Yunqi Technologies Group Co., Ltd., as a co-initiator of the project, participated in this seminar.

The leaders and guests attending this event included Dr. Feng Jianqiang, a member of the Board of Directors of WorldSkills International and Chairman of the Competition Committee, Cai Bing, Director and a second-level inspector of the Competition Department of the China Employment Training Technical Instruction Center, Mou Jun, Director of the R&D Department of the Vocational Skills Appraisal Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Ye Lei, Director of the Guangdong Vocational Skills Service and Guidance Center, Zhang Lifang, President of the Guangzhou Vocational and Technical Education Research Institute (WorldSkills Competition China (Guangzhou) Research Center), Zeng Wei, Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College, and Xu Hao, Deputy Director and a professor-level senior engineer of the Institute of Computer Applications, South China University of Technology. Xia Yushan, a full-time discipline inspection secretary of Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College, chaired this seminar.

Secretary Zeng Wei delivered a speech at the event. He introduced the relevant situation of Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College's preparations for the application of the new Software Testing project from three aspects: "high-standard formation of the project application team", "high-quality formulation of the project technical standards", and "high-level construction of the project competition and training base". He earnestly requested all leaders and experts to continuously provide guidance to help the college further refine the application materials and technical documents to make them more complete and professional, promote the improvement of the quality of software testing talent cultivation, better serve the software testing industry, and contribute the wisdom and strength of the college to the vigorous development of the digital economy.

Subsequently, Wu Duowan, Director of the Department of Software and Information Industry of Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College and the representative of the Software Testing project technical team, reported the project application materials to the attending leaders and experts. During the discussion and speech session, Professor Xu Hao, Deputy Director of the Institute of Computer Applications, South China University of Technology, pointed out that from a global perspective, the software testing industry has become increasingly mature with a good industrial foundation, the software testing technology has broad development prospects, and the software testing event has both operability and development potential; Zhang Lifang, President of the Guangzhou Vocational and Technical Education Research Institute, paid special attention to the logical relationship between the vocational ability requirements and module settings in the application documents, pointing out that the assessment of core vocational abilities and professional qualities should run through all modules of the competition to ensure that the competition can not only test the competitors' professional skills but also evaluate their comprehensive qualities in the workplace.

Ye Lei, Director of the Guangdong Vocational Skills Service and Guidance Center, fully affirmed the active application of a new event of the WorldSkills Competition by Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College, pointing out that this seminar and exchange injected new vitality into the development of skills competitions in Guangdong and also fully demonstrated Guangdong's determination and responsibility in promoting the innovation and high-quality development of skills talent cultivation. He said that he would vigorously support Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College in the application work of Software Testing.

Dr. Feng Jianqiang, a member of the Board of Directors of WorldSkills International and Chair of the Competition Committee, fully affirmed the in-depth research carried out by Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College in the application of the new Software Testing event, highly praised its contribution to promoting international exchanges in the field of software testing, was full of confidence in the prospects of the project application, emphasized the accuracy of the project positioning, the integration of international standards, and its unique career development space, and expected the project to progress smoothly and share China's experience globally.

Cai Bing, Director and a second-level inspector of the Competition Department of the China Employment Training Technical Instruction Center, participated in the meeting online. He pointed out the importance and systematicness of the application work of new projects, emphasized the importance of key time nodes and the communication and cooperation among all parties, and discussed the construction of an expert echelon and the balanced development of WorldSkills competitions. He encouraged Guangdong to follow the pace of WorldSkills International while maintaining its traditional advantages and actively explore new fields to make greater contributions to the balanced development of the WorldSkills Competition. Zhonghui Group will join hands with Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College to jointly promote Software Testing to become a new event of the 48th WorldSkills Competition and contribute positive forces to the development of the software testing industry and the cultivation of skills talents.
